The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, April 13, 2003 Doris M. Myers, 86, of Sun Lakes, AZ, passed away April 8, 2003. Born in Dayton, Ohio, she moved to Arizona in 1961 when the Air Force transferred her husband to Williams AFB, from which he retired in 1964. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Roland W. Myers. Other survivors are a sister, Angeline Croghan of Dayton, OH; two brothers, Carl (Alice) Haines, of Dayton, and William (Rita) Haines, of Scottsdale, AZ; a son, Rolly (Barbara) Myers of Waddell, AZ, and a daughter, Judy Hughes of Chandler, AZ. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Howard Taylor, Dawn Lindsay, James Hughes, John Hughes, Jennifer Hughes, and William Belfield. Two nieces, Cebe Breisch and Holly Majcher, and a nephew, Chris Haines, also survive, as well as 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Louise Haines. As a young woman, Doris was a secretary-bookkeeper for a Dayton furniture store, where she met her husband. They married on Valentine's Day, just before Roland was sent to England during World War II. Doris followed her husband as the military moved them around the world. When her children graduated, she went to work at the Arizona Bank in Chandler as a loan officer. She was a gracious, loving mother and dedicated wife. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service in her honor is planned for Tuesday, April 15, at 10:00 AM at St. Steven's Catholic Church, 24827 S. Dobson Rd. in Sun Lakes.
