DEATH COME TO BERT HAND
County Worker Died Tuesday at the Hospital
Death, from undetermined causes, came at 5:30 a.m., Tuesday of this week, to Bert hand, native of Arizona and well known resident of the Wickenburg area for the past 15 years. Mr. Hand passed away at community Hospital here where he had been a patient since June 18. His condition had shown steady improvement and on Monday it was thought he might be able to leave the hospital in a day or so. However, he took a turn for the worse Monday afternoon and failed to rally.
For the past three years Mr. Hand had been employed by Maricopa County on the on the county truck. Prior to that time he was with the Arizona Highway department for a number of years.
He was born at Fort Huachuca, Ariz., May 22, 1885, and lived all his life in this state.
He is survived by three brothers, Charles, of Wickenburg; George of Bakerfield, Calif., and Edward of Phoenix. A daughter, Mrs. Lavina Northun of Los Angeles, arrived in Wickenburg Tuesday to help plan funeral arrangements. Another daughter, whose name was not immediately available, resides in Washington, D.C. Also surviving are two sisters, Miss Minnie Oldham and Miss Myrtle McLane of Phoenix.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Wickenburg Chapel.
