ZIMMERMAN, Verna Marie


Verna Marie Zimmerman died in her home in Gilbert June 12, 2003. She was born in Assumption, Nebraska June 4, 1926. Verna and her late husband, Robert, were dairy farmers in the Scottsdale/Gilbert area all of their shared lives. Verna was a member of the Sodality of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, a member of the Old Timers in Scottsdale and the Scottsdale Historical Society. Most important to Verna was her family and friends. Verna enjoyed family and friends, bowling, fishing, crossword puzzles, games, cards and jigsaw puzzles. Thankful for having shared in her life are her children: William (Vicky), Steve (Donna), Robert (Diane), Carolyn Sue, Margie (Zane) Anderson, Mary Helen (Fred) Pena and Lori Ann. Also her 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and eight siblings will all miss the cornerstone of the family. Verna was preceded in death by her son, Hal; husband, Robert; and five siblings. Visitation will be held on Sun., June 15, 2003, from 6-8 PM with Rosary at 7 PM at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale, AZ. Mass will be held on Mon., June 16, 2003, at 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3801 N. Miller Rd., Scottsdale, AZ.
