Raymond L. McKenzie, 81, of Snowflake died Jan. 24, 2010, at his home in Snowflake. He was born Jan. 1, 1929, to Clyde and Margaret Burnash McKenzie in Flint, Mich. He had three brothers. He lived in Dewey from 1984 to 2006 and in Snowflake from 2006 to 2010.
Raymond was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army from 1946-47. He was married to his loving wife Anita for 38 years and they had five daughters and two sons. He was in the upholstery business and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. He also belonged to the American Legion. He loved the outdoors and had wonderful interests such as horseback riding, fishing, woodcutting, hunting and rebuilding old tractors.
He is survived by his wife Anita; two sons Orville (Shiela) McKenzie of Prescott Valley, Jim McKenzie of Ft. Morgan, Colo.; five daughters Michelle (Alfred) Rios of Prescott Valley, Diane (Andy) Mortagne of Kelso, Wash., Janelle (Ryan) Burson of Casa Grande, Jennifer (Martin) Jara of Colo., Kristy (Jeremy) Ulmer of Payson; three step-daughters Glenda, Cindy, Bonnie; 26 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother, Bill McKenzie of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dick and Ralph McKenzie and a step-daughter Deanna Sue Palmer.
Private family services will be held.

Raymond L. McKenzie, 81, formerly of Dewey, Ariz., passed away peacefully at his home on Jan. 24, 2010. He was born in Michigan on Jan. 1, 1929.
Raymond was a veteran of World War II. He was in the upholstery business and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, and American Legion. He loved the outdoors and had wonderful interests, such as horseback riding, fishing, woodcutting, hunting and rebuilding old tractors.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Anita; his seven children, Jim McKenzie, Michelle (Alfred) Rios, Diane (Andy) Mortagne, Orville (Sheila) McKenzie, Janelle (Ryan) Burson, Jennifer (Martin) Jara and Kristy (Jeremy) Ulmer; three stepdaughters, Glenda, Cindy and Bonnie; 26 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a stepdaughter, Deanna Sue Palmer.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Dewey.
