O'BRIEN, Gwendolyn (Gwen) Joan

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona 01/29/2010 Gwendolyn "Gwen" Joan O'Brien, 76, of White Mountain Lake died at her home Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010. Gwen was born March 7, 1933, in Oakland, Calif. Gwen met and married Michael John O'Brien Sr. and has been together with him for 40 years. She worked for many years as a machinist, working on aircraft and space equipment. She loved her family, waterskiing and her animals. She and Michael moved to White Mountain Lake in 1994 and enjoyed their membership in the Elks Lodge and VFW. Gwen is survived by her husband Michael John O'Brien Sr.; son Michael John Jr. (Lorena) O'Brien of Lakeside, AZ; daughter Karen Dougherty of Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren and a few great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in her honor Saturday, Jan. 30, at 6 p.m. at Silver Creek Mortuary, 745 Paper Mill Road in Taylor.
