SALAZAR, Henry


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona January 22, 2010 Henry Salazar, 77, of Linden died Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born Jan. 8, 1933, in Calipatrai, Calif., to the late Joe and Sarah (Sience) Salazar. After approximately one month in care facilities, Henry arrived back home, Friday, Jan. 15. Once within the walls of the home he built, he told his family, "I feel wonderful. Like I've died and gone to Heaven." At the time of his passing his family and grandchildren were singing primary songs. During his life, Henry enjoyed coaching youth baseball, playing football, serving as a Scout Leader and dancing with his wife. He provided for his family by working as a carpenter. A marvelous sense of humor was enjoyed by many and his sweet smile will be dearly remembered. Henry was a member of the Linden Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Francine (Green) Salazar and four brothers. He is survived by his wife DeEtta (Sample) Salazar; children Paul (Gail) Salazar, Eric Salazar, Bobette (Jim) Carpenter, Roxanne (Kenneth) Broderick, Randall Martin, Cammy (Thomas) Grapp, Mindy (Jason) Matyas, Jared (Jennifer) Golly; 19 grandchildren with two on the way; 16 great-grandchildren with three on the way; two sisters Sarah (Brian) Flores, Clara Salazar as well as many extended family members and friends. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, at the Owens Livingston Mortuary, White Mountain Chapel, 320 N 9th St. in Show Low and one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at the Show Low Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will be in the Show Low Cemetery.
