Susan Neighbors, wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, cousin, friend born in Modesto, CA on March 19, 1938 passed away on April 11, 2003. Raised in Fresno, CA and graduated from Fresno High School in 1955. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Fresno State College in 1959 and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Sue had a passion for people and her career started as kindergarten teacher. She married the love of her life, Ralph, in 1961 and began raising her family. She moved to Glendale, AZ via Laramie, WY in 1971 when her husband accepted a teaching/coaching position at Maryvale HS. She became a Jafra consultant in 1972.
She was co-founder of JobMart, a branch of LSMS, in the early 1980's. During this time she also taught Human Relations in Business at Phoenix College. She became the Arizona Director of JobNet in the late 1980's, which was renamed in her honor, JobNet for Neighbors in April 2002.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ralph, daughters Jodi Paulus (Lee), Lori Westergard, (Kevin), son Tony Neighbors (Stephanie), two grandsons, Jared and Drew, a granddaughter on the way and many friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Dorothy Cornwell of Fresno, CA.
Sue was strong in her fight against ALS and had much support from the Muscular Dystrophy Association, ALS Association, and Hospice of the Valley.
Memorial Services will be held on April 16, at 10:30 AM, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 1500 W. Maryland.
