Greer-Wilson Funeral Home Phoenix, Arizona Alice Garcia Morgan (September 27, 1911 - January 3, 2010) Alice (Eliza) Garcia Morgan, 98 of Phoenix, died January 3, 2010. She was born September 27, 1911 in El Paso, Texas. She grew up in Ray-Sonora, AZ. She attended St. Mary’s boarding for her grade school years and finished her schooling at Ray High School. After graduation, she worked as a school secretary for the school superintendent /Principal of Ray School District. Alice met and married Joe (Minnie) R. Morgan also of Ray-Sonora. Alice and Joe are survived by their son Daniel R. Morgan and, Daughters Cecilia & Josephine Morgan, Carmen (Al) Roeger, grandson Jim (Christi) Roeger, and great grandsons Griffin and Dylan. Other family survivors include brother Robert Garcia of Sacramento, California, sister Emma Flores of Richmond, California and countless nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, their baby son William, her father Jose Garcia, her mother Felipa Beltran Garcia, her sisters Beatrice Mendez and Francis Cittadini. Alice was a homemaker and mother and in her early years worked tirelessly for her church St. Vincent de Paul Parish in the Legion of Mary. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM with Rosary at 6:30 PM on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Greer-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 5921 W. Thomas Road in Phoenix. Funeral Mass will follow 10 AM on Friday, January 8, 2010 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church located at 3140 N. 51st Avenue in Phoenix with interment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Charities in her memory.
