LAWTON, John, Jr.

John Lawton, Jr., born 2 August 1911 in Beadling, Pennsylvania, died 11 June 2003 at age 91 in Hurricane, Utah at the home of his son, Gregory Lawton. His Parents John Lawton and Edith R. Bennett were born in England. He married Marie Isabella Lawrence on May 4, 1934 in Pennsylvania. She had been born in West Virginia. They had two children, Jeffrey Lawton, Phoenix, Arizona and Gregory Lawton, Hurricane, Utah. They had 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. John married Marie for time and all eternity in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Mesa Temple on 7 June 1961. Their love and devotion was well noted by their children and all that knew them. They cared for many people and were loved by many more. After a long illness she passed away on September 12, 1990 in Phoenix, Arizona. After her death he found that the loneliness was too much and another gifted and loving woman came into his life. She too had lost her eternal companion. They decided to love and care for each other so on 8 June 1991, John Lawton married Olive Sidaway for time. They loved and cared for each other in sickness and health until her death August 20, 1998. At Marie's funeral John stated "May she rest in peace, free from all the pain she had in life, until the Lord calls me to join her there." On June 11, 2003 he received that call and quietly slipped from this life to his eternal companion and his best friend Marie Isabella Lawton.
