Frank "Kico" Martinez, 67, of Phoenix Arizona, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2003 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1935.He graduated from Phoenix Technical High School and joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17. A Vietnam veteran who served our country for 22 years.
He moved his family to Phoenix in 1977 and retired from the VA Hospital after 23 years of service. He spent most of his retiring years giving to the poor. He made many road trips to Mexico to give to orphanages and small towns.
He is survived by his 4 children, Lupita Tenpenny, Sara Brousseau, Francisco Martinez and Ana Hankish. He had nine beautiful grandchildren, Filumena, Josefina, Christopher, Jimmy, Marianna, Alex, Francisco Jr., Caitlin and John. Also survived by brothers, Joe, Richard and Henry and sisters, Grace Gomez and Rosie Juarique.
Visitation will begin at 9am, Rosary at 10am and Services 11am, on Wednesday, April 16, 2003, Our Lady of Quito Catholic Church, 9009 S. 18th Street, Phoenix, AA Military honors will begin at 2pm National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. 19th Avenue.
