The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, April 15, 2003 Lucille (Lucy) T. (Berg) Traaen, died peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2003 at her home after a heart-related illness. She had been a bookkeeper and homemaker, as well as an active volunteer in a number of Lutheran churches throughout her lifetime. She was born in Westby, Wisconsin on May 14, 1922. She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years and best friend, Donald Traaen. Survivors include her son Steve and daughter Teri, as well as their spouses Trish Traaen and Frank Morris; her brother Jim Berg and his wife Jean and their two sons and granddaughters. Services will be at graveside on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 11 a.m., at the Valley of the Sun Memorial Park, 10940 East Chandler Heights Road, Chandler, Arizona. Lucy's life was characterized by the attribute of giving to all those around her, including both family and friends. She was so honored to be a part of people lives.
