WALTERS, Betty M.

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday, April 15, 2003 Betty M. Walters, 84, passed away April 14, 2003 in Phoenix, Arizona. Betty was born in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of Jared E. and Florence M. Yeager Gruver. Betty attended and graduated from South High School in Youngstown, Ohio where Betty met and married Richard Earl Walters in 1937, he preceded her in death in 1988. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Phoenix serving as a Deaconess. Betty worked as a Manager for Greyhound Insurance retiring in 1985. Betty is survived by her son: Michael R. (Debra A.) Walters; brothers: Bill and Lloyd Gruver; sister: Donna Jean Gruver; grandchildren: Brittany, Tori and Emily and eighteen nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by a daughter: Janet Rae Walters; brother: Jim Gruver; Sisters: Dorothy Gruver, Florence Hamilton and Eleanor Lesko and one niece. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2003 from 6-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 12:00 noon, both will be held at the Paradise Chapel Funeral Home, 3934 East Indian School Road, Phoenix, Arizona.
