SANCHEZ, Alex

Alex Sanchez, 71, of Yuma AZ, passed away at his home on April 30, 2003. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on Dec. 31, 1931. He was dedicated to the profession he loved, banking, and during his 32-year career, he held management positions with various banks throughout Arizona. Alex served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was assigned to the USS. Frank E. Evans. He was a member of the American Legion, a Iifetime member of the Elks Club, Lodge 476, and a longtime Lions Club member. He is survived by his wife, Sally F. Sanchez, daughter, Elizabeth Ann Lopez, grandsons, Kevin and Kristofer Black, brothers, David, Johnny and Martin, a sister, Linda Krohn, stepdaughters, Catherine Franklin and Susan Kemes. Memorial service and burial date are being scheduled. Published in the Arizona Republic on 5/6/2003.
