BRUNO, Peter Michael


Peter Michael Bruno, 72, of Phoenix, AZ passed away June 14, 2003. He was born in Chicago, IL on May 11, 1931. He graduated 1949 from Bradford HS in Kenosha, Wisconsin and concurrently attended St. Francis Seminary for two years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Peter served our nation as an Army Corporal from April 1953 to August 1955. He married the love of his life, Nina Parrinello, in September of 1956. Peter owned and operated Columbia Dry Cleaners in Kenosha, Wisconsin for 18 years. He then moved to Tempe, AZ in 1977. Peter held various sales positions until 1983 when he opened City Lights, Inc. with his three sons and daughter. Peter quietly donated to charitable organizations throughout his life. He was a member of the St. Anne's Catholic Church in Gilbert and a professed Third Order Carmelite of St. Therese of the Holy Eucharist. He enjoyed helping Project Love of MIR Center Arizona, Little Sioux Orphanage, Aid to Womens Center, Children of the Rosary, Feed the Children, and other groups too numerous to mention. Most important in his life was his wife and family. He enjoyed travel, sporting events, and gardening in his spare time. Peter remained a devoted husband, father, and grandfather until his death. His wife, Nina, and his mother, Florence, of Kenosha, Wisconsin survive him. Also survived by sons Mike (Kathy), Peter (Lisa), John (Tami), daughter Catherine (Lee), nine grandchildren and sisters Mary Tarsitano (Cos), all of Phoenix, AZ and Sandra Smith (Loren) of Necedah, Wisconsin. His father, Michael Angelo, preceded him in death. Peter's memory will sustain us all. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held Tues., June 17, 2003 from 6-8pm, and a 7pm Rosary at Bueler Mortuary, 14 West Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ. A funeral mass will be held on Wed., June 18, 2003 10am at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 440 East Elliot Road, Gilbert, AZ. Published in The Arizona Republic on 6/17/2003.
