IANNELLI, David Rocco


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, February 08, 2010 David Rocco Iannelli passed away peacefully at YRMC on Feb. 6, 2010, at the age of 75. David was born in Duxbury, Mass. To William and Bessie Iannelli and moved to Prescott in 1949 where he graduated in 1952. He later proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Dave worked as an electrician for over 35 years, starting his career at Yavapai Electric. David quickly became entrenched in the local community, giving of his time with many activities and organizations including the Christmas lighting of the Courthouse and the cross on Palmer Hill. He volunteered and coached for the Prescott Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball teams for three decades, shaping the lives of many Prescott youths. Dave was also a member of the Elks and Eagles Lodges and the Smoki People. He was a life-long bowler and loved all sporting activities. David is survived by Nancy Mackin Iannelli, his wife of 53 years; his son Bill (Nancy) Iannelli of Phoenix; daughter Nina (Terry) Nehls of Richmond, Texas; brother Manny (Evelyn) Ruben of Medina, Ohio; sister Rosie (Eddie) Furlong of Easton, Mass; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members. Per Dave's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private family service will take place. Friends and family are encouraged to attend a casual celebration of David's life from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at Gurley Street Grill. In lieu of flowers, Dave would like to be remembered through donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 Grove Ave., Suite B, Prescott, AZ 86301. Information provided by survivors.
