The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, February 6, 2010 Elizabeth Palmer Ruopp passed away Feb. 4, 2010, at the age of 98. She departed this life peacefully, quietly, and with grace and dignity, just as she lived her life. She was a true lady, kind and gentle. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and one infant brother. Elizabeth was born Sept. 25, 1911, in Marshalltown, Iowa, and lived most of her life there, marrying George F. Ruopp Jr. in 1937. She was active in the First Congregational Church, 20th Century Club, Souvenir Club, DAR (50-plus years), Early American Glass Club, and PEO (50-plus years). Her favorite hobby was playing a friendly game of bridge, which she continued in Prescott at the Yavapai Hills Clubhouse. Elizabeth is survived by her loving daughter, Margaret Elizabeth (Maggie) Ross-Clunis of Prescott, Ariz., and son Fritz Ruopp of Mary Esther, Fla. Thank you to all the employees of Las Fuentes Care Center who made her life there enjoyable, and kept the lovely smile on her face. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez, Prescott. A celebration of Elizabeth's life will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa, after which she will be laid to rest beside her husband, George, at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made in her memory to Yavapai Regional Medical Center Foundation (YRMC Foundation), 1003 Willow Creek Road, Prescott, AZ 86301.
