The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, February 2, 2010 Marjorie Jane Thompson Miller went to be with the Lord Jan. 11, 2010, in Prescott, Ariz. Marjorie was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, March 7, 1928, to Herbert and Emma Thompson, who later farmed at Burley, Idaho. Mrs. Thompson was a schoolteacher. Marjorie was one of five children and graduated from high school in 1946 and from the University of Idaho, Moscow, in 1950. In 1951, she and her mother went to Arock, Ore., to teach, where she met Loren Miller. They were married in 1953 in Rupert, Idaho, and in 1954 bought a ranch in Arock, where they lived until 1973. Their three children were born there. Marjorie taught in several places: Milton-Freewater, Ore., Potlatch, Idaho, Drewsy, Ore., McDermitt, Nev., and back in Arock again. In 1973, they bought a ranch at Harper, Ore., where they lived until 1976, when they retired and moved to Prescott, Ariz. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Emma Thompson; her husband, Loren C. Miller; her two daughters, Susan and Sharon Miller; and her brothers, Richard, Herbert and Arthur Thompson. She is survived by a son, Dan Miller of Prescott, Ariz.; and a sister, Carol Powe of Seattle, Wash. Also surviving are her nephews, Ed and Bill Thompson, and Ted and Boyd Wiley; and nieces Barbara Surette, Casandra Crowell, Shelly Vegwert and Beverly Wallace. Marjorie was a committed Evangelical Christian and a true patriot. She loved her country and its Constitution and deplored the loss of freedoms and the decline of morals in America. A funeral took place Jan. 20, 2010, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, Idaho, with interment at Canyon Hills Cemetery. The family plans a memorial service for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at the Bible Baptist Church, 2945 N. Highway 89, Chino Valley, near Road 4 North. A potluck will be served after the service.
