On Aug. 18, 1918, Philomene Amelia Pumala was born in Ironwood, Mich., and on Jan. 23, 2010, she joined our Lord and her deceased parents, Andrew and Josephine (Sirko) Stupak, both from Austria/Hungary; her siblings, Andrew, Francis, Agnes, Josephine (Bowcut) and Bernard; daughter Rita Wick; granddaughter Nancy Wick; and grandsons Phillip Bunjovac and Vincent Bosanac.
Philomene left behind her husband, Carl Pumala; daughter by a first marriage, Patricia (Bosanac) (Ted) Bunjovac; son Joseph (Paula) Bosanac; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; by her second marriage, three stepdaughters, Carol (Robert) Pellow, Janet (Jerry) Whippie, Janice (David) Maki, and many grandchildren.
A rosary and a memorial mass will be at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10815 N. 35th Avenue, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Hospice of the Valley, Gardiner Home, 1522 W. Myrtle Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85021.
