CHARLES ORTIZ PASSED AWAY JUNE 3 IN CALIFORNIA; HAD LIVED HERE UNTIL LATE 1945
To C. W. Paige, Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge here, came word this week of the death of a former widely known and highly respected resident of Wickenburg, Charles E. Ortiz. He passed away on June 3 at the San Antonio Hospital in Ontario, Calif., following a heart attack.
Mr Ortiz retired October 1, 1945, after 33 years with the Santa Fe railroad, many of them spent as Section Foreman for this district. He and Mrs Ortiz left here shortly after his retirement for California and have been living in the vicinity of Ontario. While residing here, Mr Ortiz was prominent in Masonic activities and was a past master of the local lodge. He also took great interest in the First Presbyterian Church and was one of the more active members of the congregation.
THE SURVIVORS
Surviving the dedeased are the widow, Mary; one daughter, Mrs Dorothy Newton of Los Angeles and three sons; Robert E., stationed with the army in Germany; Charles V., Jr., also in the armed forces and Frank of Ontario.
Funeral services were held in Ontario and were conducted by the Colton, Calif., Masonic Lodge.
