Ellen Wilke Kelly, 89, Paradise Valley, AZ passed away April 15, 2003.
A dedicated high school teacher for more than 40 years in the Chicago Public High School system, Ellen touched and influenced many people throughout her life. Nothing made her happier than igniting and encouraging a passion for education and excellence in her students.
Ellen also pursued her own educational goals, obtaining masters and doctorate degrees in three fields: mathmatics, physics and child psychology. Ellen was devoted to her family and gave the best of herself to others asking little in return.
She is survived by her son Richard and his wife, Jerri, of Paradise Valley and her son Brian and his wife, Sue, of Chehalis, WA. Her grandchildren, Colleen, Kimberly, Kevin and Kristy of Paradise Valley and Timothy of Washington loved her deeply and will miss her.
Her husband Edward and her oldest son, Ed, preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2003 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 6261 N. Granite Reef Rd., Scottsdale.
In lieu of flowers and recognizing her dedication to education of students, the family has suggested that contributions can be made in Ellen's memory to the Ellen W. Kelly Scholarship Fund, c/o St. Ann's Catholic Church, 475 9th Avenue South, Naples, Florida 34102.
