PROTIS, Joseph J., Jr.

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, April 17, 2003 Joseph J. Protis Jr., 86, passed away April 12, 2003. Joseph was born August 6, 1916 in St. Louis, Missouri but lived in Arizona for the majority of his life. He worked for the City of Phoenix for over 30 years, moved to Prescott after he retired in 1975 and was also a WWII US Navy Veteran. Joseph is survived by his sister Lillian E. Omann; nephew Walter N. Protis, Jr.; niece Linda Tolbert and sister-in-law Iris R. Protis. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty (2002) and brother Walter N. Protis, Sr. Joseph and Betty will be interred together at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, at a later date.
