KENSINGER, Vaughn Curtis


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, February 10, 2010 Vaughn Curtis Kensinger, age 82, passed away Jan. 28 at Hospice of Arizona where he lost his battle with cancer. Vaughn was born in Johnstown, Penn., on Aug. 5, 1927 to Mildred Kensinger. He lived in Portage Lakes, Ohio, until 1963 when he moved to Wickenburg and worked for the Town of Wickenburg on the city crew. He later moved to Glendale and worked as a bartender for Macayo’s until he retired to Mobile Gardens in Wittmann where he worked on the water board for 12 years. Vaughn loved hunting, fishing, and bowling. Vaughn is survived by his wife Shirley of 59 years and four children - Michael Kensinger (Susie) of Phoenix; Cheryl Todd (Terry) of Las Vegas; Rick Kensinger of Phoenix; and Yvonne Steele (Stan) of Phoenix; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at Mobile Gardens Clubhouse in Wittmann on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m.
