Roy M. Kingery was born in Star, Idaho, Feb. 22, 1913 and passed away Jan. 17, 2010, just short of his 97th birthday.
Roy was in the construction business most of his adult life. He joined the Union Local No. 3 in 1941. He worked for Morrison-Knudsen Inc. for more than 30 years. In 1950 he worked in Afghanistan building dams, canals, etc. From there he worked in Iran, Taiwan, China, Alaska, and did several jobs in the United States. In the early 1970s he moved to Wickenburg and had his own backhoe business. Roy moved to California in the late 1970s, but continued to be a “snowbird” here in Wickenburg until he moved back in 2003.
Roy is survived by his wife of 71 years Pauline Kingery, daughter Randie Ashley of Wickenburg, and his son Dennis Kingery of Las Vegas who will be residing in the family home with Pauline in Wickenburg for the foreseeable future. He is also survived by niece and nephew Gerri and Bill Martin of Wickenburg; grandchildren Aimee and Jaysen Kingery, Kevin and Kirk Ashley; great-grandchildren Amanda and Bianca; and great-great-grandchildren Damitry and Savanna.
Roy was loved by his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed, but not forgotten. As per his wish there will be no service.
