Lynn Mesnik of Scottsdale AZ passed away June 13, 2003. Born in 1954 in Flint MI, she was raised in Campinas, Brazil, where she attended the American School.
She graduated from the University of Arizona, earned an MFA at the Sorbonne in Paris and a postgraduate degree from the American Graduate School of International Management in Glendale, AZ. She worked for
American Express in Phoenix and Dallas for nearly 20 years. Family, friends and colleagues treasured her kindness, generosity of spirit and sunny disposition, which she maintained during her courageous four-year battle with cancer.
Family was the center of Lynn's life. She also loved animals, especially her dogs, as well as traveling, books, and Southwestern history and culture.
She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her devoted husband, Todd; father Harold Bowman, Sun Lakes; sister Cheri Elston, Tempe; brother James Bowman, Dallas; niece Diana Elston, and nephews Brian Elston, Andrew and Matthew Bowman, and Benjamin Mesnik.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 21, 2003, at 10:00 a.m at St. Matthew's Church, 901 W. Erie, Chandler. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 2990 E. Northern Ave., Ste. E-100, Phoenix AZ 85028, or the animal welfare group RESCUE, 4747 E. EIliot Rd., #29-415, Phoenix AZ 85044. Tempe Mortuary handled the arrangements.
