SHERLOCK, Christopher W.


Christopher W. Sherlock, age 49, was born on August 2, 1953 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, and died on June 12, 2003 at Northwest Medical Center in Oro Valley. He grew up in Phoenix; went to Madison School No. 2, Camelback High School and Phoenix College. He worked in the Phoenix area for Hamilton Test Systems and was transferred in 1980 to the Tucson area as manager of an Auto Emissions Test Station. Subsequently, he was employed by AZ State Dept of Economic Security before he took long term disability leave. An avid golfer, Chris played all 10 of "Golf Digest's" best courses in AZ before he reluctantly had to give up the game. He was blessed with not only one, but two, holes-in-one; the first as a teenager at the old Town & Country course where he learned to play the game, and the second on April 14, 2002 at Heritage Highlands Golf Course in Marana. Chris was an active member of the Army Reserve for 30 years, most recently in a Military Intelligence Unit at Ft. Huachuca. He saw active duty in Korea and Japan and was deployed for 9 months to Germany and Hungary. He was predeceased by his father, Tom Sherlock Sr., who was a TV personality in Phoenix for 38 years. He leaves behind his wife, Barbara, of Oro Valley, and his mother, Joanne, of Phoenix; also 2 sons, Patrick and Brian of Marana, and 2 step-daughters Christine of Oro Valley, and Tami (Dewaine) Rosenthal & grandson Tyler of Pacific Beach, CA. Also surviving are his sister Kathryn, and 3 brothers Tom Jr., Tim (Lori) of Phoenix, Dan (Guinn) of Severn, MD, three nieces, and a host of friends. God has him in His keeping; we have him in our Hearts. Memorial services with Military Honors will be held at a later date.
