CHAMBERLAIN, Cletus O.


Cletus O. Chamberlain, 52, who had been in the oil distributing business here 25 years and formerly owned the Mesa Oil Co., died Tuesday of a heart attack at his home, 9001 N. 18th Drive. Mr. Chamberlain was born in St. Johns and had resided in Phoenix the past 40 years. After serving in the Army engineers in World War II he established the Mesa Oil Co. in Phoenix and owned the Malco, Moco and Martin gas stations here. His World War II service in the Pacific included five major battles. He was a member of Arizona Masonic Lodge 2. Services will be tomorrow (Sept. 1, 1967) in Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th St. Friends may call there today. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Avanell; a son, Barry of Colorado Springs; a stepson, Richard Bayles in the Navy; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Sharolyn Shirley of Santa Monica, California, and Denise Davis of Phoenix; and two grandchildren.
