CORWIN, William Marcus


William Marcus Corwin, 88, of Mesa, AZ, passed away June 16, 2003. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 21, 2003, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 322 N. Horne St., Mesa, AZ. (Mark) Corwin, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away June 16th, 2003. Mark was born in Pomeroy, Washington on October 10, 1914 to Mark T. and Mary S. Corwin. He was raised in the Redmond/Bend, Oregon area and graduated from high school in Bend, Oregon in 1933. He graduated from Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon in 1938. After graduation, he went to work for Burroughs Corp. He served in the Army from 1941 to 1945, and then returned to work at Burroughs until he retired in 1968. He married Ann Nelson in September of 1940, and they had two children Roger and Karin Lee. The family moved to Billings, Montana in 1960. In 1968 Mark began a successful career in investment savings. Ann died in 1977. A successful blending of two families occurred on May 16, 1990 when, after a long courtship, Mark married Doris Goodwin Coon. Together, Mark and Doris retired and moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1995. Mark was very active in the Masonic organization. He was a life member of Rimrock Lodge #149 in Billings, MT. He was a member of Al Bedoo Shrine Temple in Billings, where he was a past president of the Uniformed Units and was an assistant to the Potentate. He was also an associate member of El Zaribah Temple in Mesa, AZ. He enjoyed the Oriental Band, was a member of the Greeters, and was active in the Jester's. Mark and Doris could often be seen enjoying an evening at the Elk's Club, where Mark was a lifetime member. His brother Harold preceded Mark in death. He is survived by his wife, Doris; children Karin Lee & Terry Twedt of Pacific City, OR, David and Marcia Coon of Portland, OR, Roger Corwin of San Luis Obispo, CA, Jim & Barbara Coon of Puyallup, WA, Patty & Ron Martin of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren Ken & Kendal Twedt, JoAnna & Dale Wilson, Melissa Corwin, Kathy & Robin Coon and Kelsey Martin; and great-grandchildren Heather, Stacy & Kayla Wilson and Morgan & Aaron Twedt. There is a memorial service at St. Mark's Episcopal Church Saturday, June 21, 2003 at 2:00 pm., Father Carl Bloom officiating.
