HOWARD, John I.

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizoan February 12, 2010 John I. Howard, 80, died Feb. 8, 2010, in Springerville. He was born April 9, 1929, in Tindall, Mont., to John and Linea Howard. John owned and operated his own heating and air conditioning company. After retiring, he bought and ran a farm near Elfrida where he raised cattle and alfalfa. He enjoyed fishing in the White Mountains and loved riding his ATV. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Howard of Springerville; sons John Sanford of N.C.; James of Sunsites; Michael Dallas of Texas; and James of Tucson; daughter Lindy L. Howard of Tucson; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Double Adobe Catholic Church in McNeal(the church is located between McNeal and Douglas). Burnham Mortuary of Eagar handled arrangements.
