Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Annie O. Castro (April 17, 1924 - June 10, 2008) Annie Castro, age, 84 passed away June 10, 2008 at her home with her family by her side. She was born April 17, 1924 in Chihuahua, Mexico and moved to Jerome in 1927. She attended school in Clarkdale and moved to Flagstaff in 1939. She married Gilbert Castro in 1944. She raised her family and supported her husband in his police work. Mrs. Castro enjoyed cooking for everyone and flowers of all kinds. She had worked several years at the Juvenile Detention Center here in Flagstaff. She was an avid supporter of San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Mrs. Castro is survived by her daughter Margaret (Bob) Allsup, her five sons Dave Castro, Albert (Janice) Castro, Gilbert (Tammy) Castro, Louie (Rachael) Castro and Joe Castro; her sisters Alice Gonzales, Channa Moreno, Petra Stock. She is also survived by her 16 Grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Castro was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Gilbert Castro in 1998. Memorial donations may be sent to Northland Hospice, P.O. Box 997, Flagstaff, Arizona 86002. Holy Rosary will be said 7:00 Thursday, evening June 12, 2008 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 Friday morning, June 13, 2008 also at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
