HOM, Bock Heung


Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Bock Heung Hom (Died May 5, 2009) Bock Heung Hom, 80, of Flagstaff, passed away May 5, 2009 surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Canton China in 1928 and immigrated to the United States in 1949. Having worked in San Francisco California, Eugene Oregon, and Holbrook Arizona, he gained valuable experience in the restaurant business. In 1958 Mr. Hom moved to Flagstaff and opened a restaurant. Eventually, he would have a role in other establishments, including The Golden Star and Dragon Palace Restaurants. After retiring in 1998, he enjoyed spending time with family at home. Gardening, watching sports, and following the stock market were among his many hobbies. His parents, Yim Foo and Shui Mee Hom of San Francisco and his son Alvin Hom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Victoria (Flagstaff) and sons Paul (San Diego) and Jeff (Flagstaff). Viewing is scheduled for today, 6 – 8pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be held at The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
