On one occasion when Delfina lectured, a friend told her “I can hear the Lord in your voice”. She was employed at the Flagstaff Army Depot, during WWII where she taught herself to drive, gear by gear as she delivered jeeps. She was proud of her country, and tearfully sent her sons and grandson off to serve in various branches of the military during many international conflicts. She often bragged how well represented her family was in each branch of the military. She was well known and complimented for her meatloaf and green chile with pork. During her later years, Delfina enjoyed volunteering her time to the St. Vincent De Paul society.
