INGALLS, Mary Shelly


Mary Shelly Ingalls, 84, died April 12, 2003. Born February 18, 1919 in Atchison, Kansas. Beloved daughter of Sheffield Ingalls, former Lt. Governor of Kansas and Lucy Van Hoesen. Granddaughter of John J. Ingalls, pioneer US Senator, Kansas. Survivors are her husband, James W. Weir of California, a brother, Phillip Coddington Ingalls of New York state; sister, Baroness Sally Von Ostman Van Der Lay of Tucson; sons Burton Ingalls of Florida, Warren of Phoenix and Edward of Washington state. Mary was a longtime elementary school teacher who worked with visually impaired children to integrate them into the Mesa Public School System. She was a founding member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Memorial service will be held at St. Stephen's, 2310 N. 56th Street, Phoenix, Sunday, May 11, 2003, 10:15 a.m. Any expression of respect should be made to your favorite young people's organization.
