TAIT,
Roy Magnus, Jr.
Roy Magnus Tait Jr., 71, a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and brother died Tuesday morning, June 17, 2003
from heart failure following a courageous battle with diabetes. Roy was born May 21, 1932 to the pioneer Arizona family of Roy and Marie Ruth Tait.
He, like his father, was a respected valley cotton farmer. He later was a real estate property manager until failing health prevented him from actively pursuing his vocations. Roy graduated from North Phoenix High School and attended the University of Arizona and Occidental College in California, where he was a Phi Gamma Delta.
He was a life-long resident of Tolleson, and was an avid hunter and dearly loved the beautiful White Mountains of Arizona. Above all, Roy loved his family and they cherished him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Kay Prather Tait;
brother, Thomas Tait of Phoenix and sister, Sylvia McGrouther of Palo Alto, California; and by his children, Steven, Fred, Sandra, and Roy III Tait, and Jimmy, Norma, Kimberly, Nicole and Travis Hampton, and by 30 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Roy will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Services: 2:00 PM Sunday, June 22, 2003 at A. L. Moore-Grimshaw, 710 W. Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association or the Arizona Kidney Foundation.
