EXUM, E. Eugene

Captain E. Eugene Exum made his final departure on June 17, 2003. Born in Laws, Tennessee in 1917, he lived a glorious career with Trans World Airlines, flying DC 3's in the early days and retiring as an International 747 Captain. He was married to Reba Sue Exum who passed away in January 2001. Together they lived life to the fullest, living in Portugal and Saudi Arabia. When not working they traveled extensively and learned about the world and each other. They moved to Litchfield Park in 1980. He is survived by his brother Felix of Spring Creek, Tennessee, his son Jack of Scottsdale, daughters Alice Ellison of Daytona Beach, Florida and Genoa Suzanne Hornung of Carlsbad, California, grandsons Eric Exum, Danny Flynn and Nicholas Hornung, granddaughters Nancy Exum, Allison Flynn, Stephanie Flynn and Madeline Hornung, and his great-grandson Alexander Exum. Memorial Services will be held at The Church at Litchfield Park, 300 N. Litchfield Rd., Litchfield Park, AZ on Friday June 20, 2003, at 11:00am. The family has suggested memorial contributions to Sun Health Hospice Care Services, 12740 N. Plaza Del Rio Blvd, Peoria, AZ 85381. Published in The Arizona Republic on 6/20/2003.
