BROWN, George A., Jr.


George A. Brown Jr. passed away on November 23, 2002 in Prescott, AZ. He was born in St. Johns, AZ on October 30, 1920, a 2nd generation Arizonan with a proud Mormon lineage. George served in World War II in the Asian Theatre. He joined the Phoenix Fire Department in 1943 and retired in 1975 with the position of Deputy Chief. During his career he was a loyal member and officer of the United Fire Fighters Association Local 493. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Alice in March of 2000. He is survived by his son George and wife Lee of Texas, son Robert and wife Nancy of California, daughter Louise Moore of Kansas, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by brothers John and Frank and sisters Margaret, Beverly, Roberta and Kathleen. George will be remembered as an outstanding Firechief, a devoted Husband, and a wonderful Father. Modest in death as he was in life, no services will be held at his request. Please honor his memory by donations to the charity of your choice.
