Patrick John
Patrick John Murphy of Tempe, Arizona, born March 16, 1948; died June 5, 2003. Patrick was born to Mary and John Murphy in Detroit, Michigan, attended St. Agatha Catholic High School graduating in 1966 and served honorably in the United States Army.
Patrick spent most of his adult life in Southern California where he met his wife Lynn (Strehlow) Murphy, moving to Arizona in 1996 to be nearer his brother Mike Murphy and in-laws Jack and Betty Strehlow.
He will be missed by his extended family at the Tempe Elks. Pat was a Maintenance Supervisor for TGM Associates in Tempe, an avid and devoted fan for the Detroit Red Wings and a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Tempe Lodge #2251. "Patrick whose love of life, wit and wry sense of humor were a source of joy to all who knew him, he will never be forgotten, never forsaken and his faults will be written in the sand and his virtues upon the tablets of love and memory".
Pat is survived by his wife Lynn, daughter Mary Katherine, brother Mike and sister-in-law Debra of Chandler, nephew Charles (Mia) of
Boise, niece Joanna Hackett (Edward) of Pensacola; great nieces and nephews Megan and Matt Murphy, Ryan and Will Hackett and Michael Jess Barnes. Patrick will also be missed by his extended family of brothers and sisters at the Elks. Pat was preceded in death by his mother Mary Francis O'Reilly and father John Murphy.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley. A celebration of Patrick's life will be shared at the Tempe Elks Lodge on June 22, 2003 at 1:00 PM. How about those Red Wings. Arrangements handled by Tempe Mortuary.
