Sherri D. Hawke, 44, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away Dec 6, 2002. She was born in Austin, TX and grew up in Houston, TX. Sherri graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Accounting degree and was a CPA. She worked for Ernst & Ernst in public accounting in Denver, CO before joining Honeywell in 1984 in Minneapolis, MN and held various Finance positions, including that of manufacturing finance manager. In 1993, she relocated to Toronto and served as controller for Industrial Automation and Control in Canada. Sherri returned to Phoenix in 1996 as IAC operations controller and later was director of business analysis for Hi-Spec Solutions before assuming her current role as Industry Solutions Worldwide Controller. Sherri was the proud recipient of the Lund Award, a prestigious Honeywell corporate honor that recognized managers who excel as people developer, role model and coach, and performance leader. She was an active leader in Honeywell's community activities, especially through HERO -- Honeywell Employees Reaching Out. She was a fond supporter of organizations such as the Thomas J. Pappas School for Homeless Children, Habitat for Humanity, and St. Mary's Food Bank. She participated in Habitat home building efforts in Minneapolis, MN, Albuquerque, NM, Phoenix, and Glendale, AZ. Sherri loved travel, domestic and international motorcycling, camping, sightseeing, snow skiing, playing volleyball, and learning about diverse cultures. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Sherri is survived by her husband, Doug Hawke, her brother David Dorn of Houston, TX, her sister Robin Hunt of San Francisco, CA, her mother and stepfather Rosemary and Bert McLachlan of Houston, TX, and many other loving relatives. Memorial services will be held at Paradise Valley United Methodist Church, 4455 E. Lincoln Dr, Paradise Valley, on Tuesday, December 10 at 2:00 PM. Services to be held in the Sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to Engelhardt/Pappas Foundation, 7107 N. Black Canyon Hwy, Phoenix AZ 85021 on her behalf.
