HUNTER, Rodney Ernest


Rodney Ernest Hunter passed away on December 5, 2002 in Prescott, Arizona. He was born on April 27, 1931 in Richmond, Maine to Wallace L. and Hazel G. (Baxter) Hunter. Rod moved to Fountain Hills, Arizona, in 1992 from Glendale, California. At the time of his retirement, he was the Manager of Technical Facilities at KABC-TV in Hollywood. He moved to Prescott in 2001. As a Mason, Rod was a member of Hiram Lodge No. 180 in South Portland, Maine. He also was a member of the American Radio Relay League and the National Rifle Association. Rod was an Amateur Radio Operator, an Astronomer, a Photographer & a Watercolor Artist. He also enjoyed target practice as a Firearms Enthusiast. Rod served in the Army during the Korean War as Chief Radar Operator of an anti-aircraft radar system, then as a Platoon Sergeant in a training battalion. Survivors include his wife, Nan Hunter of Prescott, AZ; sons & daughters-in-law, Bob & Cindy Hunter of Pecatonica, IL and Ernie & Debbie Hunter of Holts Summit, MO; daughter and son-in-law, Kaye & Ed Collins of Lehi, UT; brothers & sister-in-law, Floyd Hunter of Syracuse, NY and Russ & Dottie Hunter of Conway, NH; sister & brother-in-law, Pat & Paul Bowden of Gales Ferry, CT; grandchildren, Susan, Elijah, Matthew, Josilyn, Colby, Parker and Reed and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Madison & Jobe. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 27, 2003 at Merry Meeting Bay Cemetery in Bowdoinham, Maine.
