Pauline Reschke Humphrey Hatcher, 93, of Mesa, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at home. Pauline was born April 26, 1909, in Pratt County, Kansas, to Fred and Erma Reschke. She graduated from Friends University in Kansas in 1932.
Pauline and her former husband, Loren R. Humphrey, were missionaries in China for a number of years. Wichita, Kansas was her home from 1949 to 1994 where she was a homemaker and a very active member of Grace United Methodist Church. While visiting mission fields and traveling throughout the world, she nurtured many wonderful friendships.
In 1989 she married Wesley W. Hatcher. They moved to Glendale, Arizona in 1994, where they lived until 2002 when they moved to Mesa, Arizona. While living in Arizona they attended St. Matthew United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley; three daughters: Grace Stewart, Topeka, Kansas; Lynn Mahmoudi, Encinitas, California; Beverly Graham, Mesa, Arizona; a sister, Helen May, Ft. Collins, Colorado; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A granddaughter preceded her in death. She also had five nieces and one nephew.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 26, in the auditorium at Glencroft Retirement Community, 8611 N. 67th Ave., Glendale, AZ 85302.
Inurnment will be at a later date in Pratt, Kansas.
