The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, April 20, 2003 Barbara Close James, 76, of Sun Lakes, passed away Wednesday 16 April, 2003. Barbara was born 13 November, 1926 to Eugene Close and Helen M. (Hoyer) Close in Sandusky, Ohio. She was a graduate of the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Art Education Degree and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. After graduation she was a very dedicated and talented Art Teacher. In 1985 she and her husband, Robert, moved to Arizona from Massachusetts. She became an active member of the community. She was a member of the Sun Lakes Peo Chapter DD and a member of The United Church of Sun Lakes. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert E. James. She is the loving mother of Susan Martin and William R. (Janice) James. She is the proud and adoring grandmother of William and Robert James. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday 23 April, 2003 at 3:30 P.M. at The United Church of Sun Lakes, 9240 E. Sun Lakes Blvd. N. in Sun Lakes.
