MAGANA, Joe M.

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, April 20, 2003 Joe M. Magana, 69, of Glendale, AZ, passed away April 13, 2003. Joe was born September 29, 1933 in Flagstaff, AZ. He was in the US Army. He was a senior DC. supervisor at Checker Auto since 1987. Joe graduated from NAU in 1964 and played softball for the 5th Army during the Korean War. He loved and excelled in sports throughout his beautiful life. He played softball on numerous championship teams for Flagstaff and Phoenix and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his father Joe Magana Sr. and mother Vivian Magana and a sister Rose. Survivors include his daughter Elizabeth Magana-Miles, sons Richard, Mario and Michael, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 5 brothers, 6 sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and countless friends. Services are 10am, Monday, April 21, 2003 at Lundberg Mortuary White Rose Chapel, 5310 W. Northern Ave., Glendale.
