Bette Jayne Michaud, born February 17, 1923 entered into rest on Good Friday, April 18, 2003.
Bette was preceded in death by her husband, Vern in April, 2001.
She is survived by daughter, Peggy Whitman and her husband David; son, Joe Michaud and his wife, Suzanne; 3 grandchildren: Michael, Nicholas and Stacey Michaud and sister, Peggy Crowe.
Bette worked at Scottsdale High School for 27 years and was a very proud Scottsdale High Beaver. She got together as often as she could to attend the monthly "Beaver Breakfasts" with her tightly knit group of ex-Scottsdale High School colleagues. Bette loved to have fun, laugh, go to the casinos, play cards, eat Mexican Food, go to Sue (her hairdresser) and watch her beloved TV.
She had a soft heart for dogs and her kindness brought many a stray into her loving home. Bette was unbelievably proud of her grandchildren, Michael and Nicholas, who are serving in the U.S. Navy; and, granddaughter Stacey, who inherited her grandmother's love for animals and is currently working in Veterinary Medicine.
The last year of her life was spent with her extended family and friends at Alterra Sterling House in Chandler, Arizona - a place she referred to as "my happy home." She touched everyone's life in such a special way. She will be greatly missed.
A celebration of her life will be held 6:00 P.M., Monday, April 21st at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014-5656 or online at www.hov.org/donate.html.
