Jerrold A. (Jack) Pickett, Flagstaff, Arizona, age 43, passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2003.
Jack was born and raised in Albion, NY. As a boy, he enjoyed playing baseball and Pop Warner Football. In High School, he ran Cross Country and Track and excelled at Wrestling. As an adult, he was passionate about water skiing, snow skiing, and bicycling.
After high school, he attended Alfred State College in Alfred, NY. After graduation, he moved to Florida, where he met Sonya Lee. He and Sonya married in Arizona in 1989 and had a daughter, Keanna, whom he considered his greatest accomplishment.
Jack's passion was music. He was instrumental in publishing several local independent artists and bands including Hopi reggae artist, Casper, and the Flagstaff rock band, Anenome. He was a member of Reggae Ambassadors Worldwide and took great pride and pleasure in helping to promote the dreams of independent art-ists. He was born on October 11, 1959 in Albion, NY the son of John R. (Jack) and Joyce A. Pickett.
He is survived by his five year old daughter, Keanna Joyce Lee Pickett and Sonya Lee of Phoenix; his brother John A. Pickett Sr. of Cambridge, MD and sister-in-law Vickie Lynn Pickett of Cambridge MD, nephews John A. Pickett Jr. and Russell F. Pickett also of Cambridge, MD; Theodore Schoonover of Albion NY; cousins Renee Colonna of Albion NY and Michael Schoonover of Arlington Heights Ill.; and many close friends that he considered family.
A memorial service will be held at 1p.m., Sunday, April 27th at the Mountainaire Tavern located at 110 Mountainaire Road, in Mountainaire Arizona. (1-17 exit 333 east approximately 1 mile, just south of Flagstaff)
