The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, April 20, 2003 Guillermo G. "Billy" Vargas, Jr., of Chandler, Arizona died Thursday, April 17, 2003. He was 37. Billy was born in Stockton, California to the late Guillermo G. Vargas, Sr. and Elisa Angel Vargas. He moved to Arizona from California in 1975. Billy was a Marine Corps veteran and served in Desert Storm. He is survived by his wife, Elena "Bayne" Vargas; 3 daughters: Ayssa Vargas, Rashea Vargas, Mia Vargas; mother, Elisa Vargas; sister: Hilda Wade (Dave); niece, Chelsea Vargas and nephew, Ethan Wade. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at The Chapel of Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive in Chandler with the Rosary service at 7 PM. The Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1551 E. Dana Avenue in Mesa. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Mesa, where he will receive full military honors. Courtesy of Pat Wilson.
