Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Tuesday, February 16, 2010 Louisa Ormsby, a longtime resident of Flagstaff, died suddenly in her home on Feb. 9, 2010. Mrs. Ormsby was born to Alberto and Ofelia Barela on Dec. 2, 1937. She attended South Beaver Elementary School and graduated from Flagstaff High School in 1957. Mrs. Ormsby married Gerald "Gary" Ormsby in 1966; they eventually moved from Flagstaff and lived in El Centro and La Puente, Calif., until her husband died in 1982. Mrs. Ormsby returned to Flagstaff and raised her two sons, Darin and Martin Ormsby. She worked for and retired as a bookkeeper for Flagstaff Pediatrics. She enjoyed the company of her family and specifically enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted Catholic and a parishioner of the San Francisco de Asis Parish. She loved to sew, and made beautiful baptism garments for her grandchildren and vestment robes for the pastors of San Francisco de Asis. Her hobbies also included jigsaw puzzles, painting, angel collecting, watching her children and grandchildren participate in sporting events, and shopping with her sisters. Occasionally she could be found relaxing or performing her "therapy" at Cliff Castle. Mrs. Ormsby is survived by her two sons, Darin (Amy) and Martin S. (Mary Ellen) Ormsby of Flagstaff; brother Eberto ("Tito" "Tony") Barela of Flagstaff; sisters Adelina Rascon of Los Lunas, N.M., and Pilar Lovato of Flagstaff; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. The rosary was recited Monday at the St. Pius X Church. The funeral Mass will be today, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m., with interment at the Calvary Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
