SCHWARTZ, Daniel Howard


Daniel Howard Schwartz, 74, passed away December 4, 2002 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He will be deeply missed by his family and by many friends and business associates. He was born June 2, 1928 in New York City. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He moved to Arizona in 1951 to be the program editor for KPHO television. He created a number of businesses in Phoenix including Arizona Hi-Fi House, Investment Associates Brokerage Firm and at one time ran for the Arizona Legislature. In 1976 he established Dan Schwartz Realty, Inc. and in 1987, he created the "100 Percent Commission Concept" Real Estate format which today has over 1250 active Realtors. Dan's entrepreneurial spirit, and innovative thinking created a successful real estate concept which has been replicated throughout the country! A loving man, Dan was most generous, friendly and warm to all those he met. He was often accused of never having met a stranger. He loved Jazz, the Theatre, and was a voracious reader. He especially loved sharing his ideas with all who were interested. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, David of Phoenix, AZ; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Katherine of West Hartford, CT; daughter, Melissa Schwartz of Phoenix, AZ; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Mark Conroy of Cave Creek, AZ and Jennifer and Scot Williams of Scottsdale, AZ; sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Bud Wiedenthal of Cleveland, OH and grandchildren, Militza, Tristan, Isabelle, Tatum, Austin, Madison, Hannah, Meg and Lauren. All are welcome in celebrating Dan's life at a memorial service to be held at the Sundome, 19403 R.H. Johnson Blvd, Sun City West on Monday, December 9, 2002.
