Dennis A. Scamp
He was born July 19, 1941 in Battle Creek, Michigan. He moved from Battle Creek, Michigan to Cashion. He attended Tolleson High School. He served in the Navy in 1960-1962 on the U.S.S. Los Angeles. He moved from Arizona to California and lived there for 26 years, where he worked at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Harbor City, California.
He was the lead engineer, when he retired in 1996 he moved to Overgaard where he became active in community service. He was a S.A.V. Auxiliary for the Navajo County Sheriff's Office. He was a member of the Ponderosa Lions Club in Heber/Overgaard, Agave House, Arizona Site Stewart and a member of the American Legion.
Dennis is survived by his wife Ann of Overgaard; his children, Warren Scamp of Overgaard and Denise Stephen of Eagar; his brothers, Tom Scamp of Avondale and Larry Scamp of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by his grandchildren Justin Scamp and Jeremy Stephen.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dortha and Tom Scamp, Sr.
Memorial services were held Sunday, Jan. 5 at the American Legion Post in Overgaard.
