MILLER, Dean H.


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/07/2003 Dean H. Miller He was born and raised in Snowflake where he attended school. After high school he went to the University of Arizona for four years and graduated. He later moved to Los Angeles and pursued his interest in dancing. He was drafted into the Army in 1942 and served until Jan. 1946. He was involved with radio communication and repair and was a sharpshooter. After his discharge he came home and continued in his dancing. He toured all of South America with his dancing. Dean eventually went into electrical engineering and he worked in New York in larger corporate buildings. He later retired and moved back to Snowflake in 1978. He resided just a half of a block from where he was born and raised. He was a very talented pianist and also created dance costumes. He loved dogs and had a couple of poodles he was especially close to. Dean is survived by one brother, Roy (Ruth) Miller of Gilbert and one sister, Flora (Leon) Ballard of Snowflake and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Vernal and one sister, Rosalene and his parents, Allen and Philene. Private services will be held. Owens Mortuary of Snowflake handled the arrangements.
