BLACKBURN, Richard Evan


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ August 4, 1993 Richard Evan Blackburn of Salome died Sunday, August 1, 1993, in Phoenix. He was 70. Mr. Blackburn was born April 30, 1923 in Pocatello, Idaho, and had lived in Arizona for seven years. After his retirement, Mr. Blackburn enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, visiting with people and gardening in his yard. He is survived by his wife of seven years, Geri; daughters Lori Sankovich of Nevada and Cindy Gibb of Utah; step-children Barry Day of Utah, Kathy Barnson of Utah, Lani Gallegos of Mesa, Virginia Gallegos of Mesa, and Howard Day of Mesa; granddaughter Amanda Lee Gibb of Utah; 19 step-grandchildren; sisters Shirley, Dorothy and Norma Lou; and brothers Neal, Bud and Bob. Visitation will be held Thursday August 5, 1993, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Frey Funeral Home, 980 N. Tegner in Wickenburg. Services will be held Friday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, W. Wickenburg Way and Lazy Fox Road. Graveside services will be held Friday Aug. 6 at 1:30 p.m. at the Veterans Administration National Cemetery on 23029 Cave Creek Road in Phoenix, with Brother Jeff Bohlan officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Research of Good Samaritan Hospital. Frey Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
