The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, February 17, 2010 Betty J. Kemp was born Sept. 15, 1928 in Port Huron, Mich., to Justin Ernest Kemp and Lola Grace Campbell Kemp. She passed away Feb. 11 in Surprise, Ariz. Betty grew up in Port Huron, attending schools and graduating from high school. After high school she went to work for the Chrysler Corporation, first working in Port Huron and then transferring to Centerline, Mich. She worked for Chrysler for more than 30 years, retiring in 1977. She then moved to Wickenburg. She was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Betty loved crocheting, crossword puzzles, and reading good books. She is preceded in death by parents Justin and Lola Kemp, sisters Marian Kemp and Laurene Nichols. Betty is survived by niece Ruth Swanson (Kent) of Wickenburg and nephew David Nichols (Linda). Funeral services will be held Thursday (Feb. 18) at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at Wickenburg Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Demeter of Calvary Baptist Church officiating.
